GRADE 5CUBISM...THE FRACTURED IMAGE in colored pencil values This is a great preview to some upcoming design projects we will be working on this fall. The fifth grade completed these cubist drawings at the end of the school year and I wanted to make sure they were displayed seeing what fun and what a great success they turned out to be! What was involved in the project? * exploration of the cubist style of art in the form of master works and student works * comparison involving the cubist use of color combinations and degree of distortion * experimentation with a variety of fragmentation methods * the creation of original value scales in colored pencil * the selection of a composition theme and the design method of fragmenting that theme * use of color values within the fragments to accentuate the 'multiple viewpoint' effect Look below...can you find the original themes in these lovely fractured images??
